Did you ever have a room decked out in Laura Ashley from floor to ceiling? You know, where the wallpaper matched the curtains matched the bedding matched the pillows? I wish I could drum up some old photos of my bedroom. I had this beautiful white and brass daybed outfitted with Laura Ashley. As décor is trending back to pattern play, it is a perfect time to pay homage to the ultra-feminine, English romantic style of Laura Ashley.
Laura Ashley was a Welsh fashion designer and successful Businesswoman during the 1960’s. What started out as crafting headscarves, napkins, table mats and tea-towels turned into a full blown furnishing materials and clothing business. Quite the pioneer!
In closer inspection at the pattern on these dresses, there are many fabrics out there today that seem to have been inspired by these beautiful designs.
And these rooms… the comfy cozy factor is off the charts. Cup of tea?
Check out these fabrics. While they are all from the past they could easily be one of today's currently trending fabrics! If you are in the market for some vintage Laura Ashley check out sites like Etsy and eBay as they usually have some available. Enjoy your weekend and until Monday ~GG
